Share the Care


2023-2024

In 2005 EUWC began a program named Share the Care to support local charitable organizations.  At each membership meeting, a specific group is highlighted.  Members can provide donations to each group as specified below.  Donations are collected at each meeting or members can mail donations directly to the club Treasurer.

 

October 24

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Infusion Center provides chemotherapy, immune suppressants, and gamma globulins to children and teens from all over Georgia and the Southeast. Infusions are provided for treatment of cancers and management of organ transplants.

November 14

The Amani Sewing Academy is a component of the Amani Women Center, a 501(c)(3) organization. Amani means ‘peace’ in Swahili. The academy promotes independence, self-sufficiency, and employment. Products are for sale in Clarkston.

December 12

Atlanta CASA, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that recruits and trains community members to become volunteer advocates for children in foster care. Volunteers maintain monthly contacts with each child/teen assigned to them in order to make recommendations to the court. Our donations assure a pleasurable holiday for the children.

NETWorks Cooperative Ministry, a 501(c)(3) cooperative Christian ministry located in the Northlake-Embry Hills-Tucker area that provides an array of services for those in need.

February 27

Nicholas House provides safe housing for families of any size to keep them intact in a shelter- or apartment-based setting.

March 26

Snack in a Backpack is provided by Glenn Memorial Church during the school year to over 300 children who receive free meals at school but are at risk of hunger on the weekends. Children from local elementary schools are served. Volunteers pack food, coordinate delivery and manage inventory.

Farmworker Family Health Program in Moultrie provides farm workers with health kits and faculty supervised health services.
